May 27, a day set aside for celebrating Children around the world has come again, and this year, the Nigerian Association of University Women (NAUW) FUNAAB Branch celebrated it with former and current children and parents of the FUNAAB CRECHE.

Children should be obedient, respectful and exhibit good virtues at home and in school, this will help you achieve your desired goals and fill you with well-rounded development that you need to become successful leaders of tomorrow”.
He enjoined parents not to relent in their efforts to take good care of their children saying, “our children are our future and we must take our commitment to our children seriously to ensure they are well taken care of as we prepare them for the future”.
The Vice-Chancellor also revealed plans to further support women and children, saying “the university is building a new maternity wing for pregnant mothers which should be completed by the end of this year”, adding that free transportation will be available for children that are enrolled in the crèche.

She appreciated and commended the Vice-Chancellor for being a staunch cheerer and advocate for children’s right and for always encouraging the Creche administration as well as for providing free transportation.
Lauding the initiative of FUNAAB Crèche for organizing the Children’s days celebration, Mrs. Omolara Taiwo whom her daughter is an alumnus said “FUNAAB Crèche has been so helpful because you know we can’t be in the office and at the same time be taking care of the children so we have to drop them at the crèche and they were really taken care of. I am so happy for this children’s day celebration, at least if we can honour the children so that they can have fun. This is really a good initiative that can be beneficial for the children and parents”.
