FUNAAB Deepens Commitment to Entrepreneurship, Partners 720Degree Innovation Hub

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has reiterated its dedication to promoting entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and innovation among students through strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by representatives of the 720Degree Innovation Hub, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo, restated the University’s resolve to provide students with practical learning experiences that would empower them to become self-employed, innovative, and financially independent.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that the ongoing training programmes facilitated by the Hub were carefully designed to equip students with essential entrepreneurial skills, effective marketing strategies, and sustainable approaches to wealth creation. He expressed optimism that collaborations of this nature would continue to strengthen the University’s drive towards hands-on education and innovation-based learning.

He described the partnership as a laudable initiative that aligned perfectly with FUNAAB’s vision of producing graduates who are not only employable but also capable of creating job opportunities for others.

Highlighting the purpose of the visit, the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS), Prof. Emily Ayo John, disclosed that FUNAAB was selected as one of the key partner institutions to train 90 students in entrepreneurship and marketing. She explained that 30 students are currently participating in the 10-day Creative Mode training, while another 60 would engage in the Inspiring Mode designed to prepare them for corporate employment and business innovation.

In his remarks, the Chief Technical Officer of 720Degree Innovation Hub, Mr. Yemi Ogundeyi, commended FUNAAB for its proactive approach to entrepreneurship development. He noted that the collaboration aligned perfectly with the University’s mission of producing graduates who are academically sound, entrepreneurial, and industry-ready.

According to him, the partnership was aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge, modern tools, and exposure needed to thrive in today’s competitive economy, while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s socio-economic growth.

The courtesy visit further deepened the bond between FUNAAB and 720Degree Innovation Hub in their shared vision of nurturing innovative, self-reliant, and solution-driven graduates for national development.
