A former Deputy Bursar of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mr. Ayodele Olusanwo has been appointed by the Governing Council of the Ajayi Crowther University (ACU), Oyo, Oyo State as the new Bursar of the University.

Having assumed duty in the University on the 1st of June, 2021, Mr. Olusanwo took over from his predecessor whose tenure had lapsed.

In a Welcome Service held at the St. Andrew’s Chapel of the University, the retired Archbishop of Ondo Province, Church of Nigeria( Anglican Communion) and Current Dean, Faculty of Humanities in the University, Most Revd. Prof. George Lasebikan, while delivering a sermon titled “What Do You Have in Your Hand?” stated that like Moses in the Bible, Mr. Olusanwo and other appointees by the University have a rod in their hands which they have acquired through their education, and various training, for which they were found worthy to be appointed.

He reminded the appointed Principal Officers of the University to always remember that God has equipped them for the new job they are about to undertake and advised them to follow God in obedience, be focused, bold and courageous.

The retired Archbishop encouraged them to never feel intimidated by their new challenge, stating that they have all it takes to deliver on their mandate.

According to him, “You have experience in your hands given that you have rendered such services in the past in other places, though the difference is that you have come to do it in another place, that can rightly be described as a change which is the most constant thing in life “.

The Archbishop who is a Professor of Old Testament Studies in the Department of Religious Studies however admonished them with the words of the late Winston Churchill, a former Prime Minister of Britain, who said ‘The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity, but the optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty ‘.

He charged them to see new opportunities in their new job and prayed that God would grant them success in their new endeavour.

Mr. Ayodele Olusanwo, in his response, thanked the authorities for giving him the opportunity to contribute his own quota to the development of the University.

He promised to give his best to sustain the financial health of the University, stating that he was coming with over 30 years experience on the job.

Also present at the Welcome Service was the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Timothy Abiodun Adebayo, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments and Units, and other members of staff.
