The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Health Services has been accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), as Secondary Health Care Provider for the NHIS Social Health Insurance Programme for Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory Services. The accreditation, which came with the accreditation codes of OG/0105/S/4 and OG/ 0105/S/5, respectively is an offshoot of the Vice-Chancellor’s approval to proceed with the application. The Director, FUNAAB Health Services, Dr. Abiodun Amusan stated that the health centre has been upgraded and the pharmacy and medical laboratory units can now render secondary services and receive referrals from other facilities under NHIS coverage.
