The Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), through the Artificial Intelligence Applications for One Health (AIA4OneHealth) Research Hub, in collaboration with the Ogun State Ministry of Health, is set to launch an artificial intelligence-driven disease surveillance system known as IDS Master.

According to a statement signed by the Team Lead and Principal Investigator, Prof. Adesina Sodiya, the launch is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC), Iyana Mortuary, Abeokuta. The system would be unveiled by the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker.

The Innovative Disease Surveillance (IDS) platform is an AI-based system designed to enhance disease monitoring, particularly in rural communities. It features a seasonal event-based surveillance mechanism with multimedia and multilingual reporting capabilities to enable faster detection and response to public health threats.

The application is expected to strengthen disease detection, reporting, and outbreak management in Ogun State, while the launch event is anticipated to attract health professionals, researchers, and government officials.
