FUNAAB Set To Commence Effective Palliative On The Deplorable Camp-Alabata Road, … As Mgt. Secures Support of the Federal Ministry of Works

For the umpteenth time within a short spate of seven (7) months in office, the Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde – led Management of the University is set to fix the deplorable Camp/Alabata Road as palliative to cushion the effect of the access route on members of staff, students and other regular users.

FUNAAB’s intervention this time around is a marked departure from previous steps as Management went the extra mile by coming down from the Ivory Tower to canvass and eventually secured the support of the Federal Ministry of Works to fix the road temporarily, pending government full scale rehabilitation.

As at the time of filling this report, the Federal Ministry of Works has promptly responded with provision of the rubbles of asphalt, while Management also reacted swiftly by moving it to the bad portions of the road.

The rubbles as captured in the pictures attached herewith are conspicuously imposing at the bad portions of the road from opposite FUNAABOT Park, Camp to the University Main Gate.

FUNAAB Director of Works and Services, Engr. Olawale Akinyele disclosed the information in an exclusive chat with FUNAAB Bulletin.

According to him, with the delivery of the rubbles on the road, the Federal Ministry of Works is now set to move to the road to fix the bad portions as soon as possible.

It would be recalled that Management had intervened twice on the road to cushion the effect of the hardship on members of the University Community.

Starting from his genuine concern, the Vice – Chancellor has been pleading with the University Community to bear with his Administration, assuring that he won’t relent in his efforts to secure the much needed federal government intervention to carry out major work on the road.

Suffice to inform that Management’s latest effort in bringing the Federal Ministry of Works to the road is a bold step towards achieving total rehabilitation.
