The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) is set to host the flag-off ceremony of the Alumni Farm Hub on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
The initiative, championed by the FUNAAB Alumni Association, marks a significant milestone in advancing agricultural development and alumni engagement. Under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, the University has leased 2,000 acres of fertile land to the Alumni Association for large-scale agricultural projects. The land has been strategically demarcated into 102 holdings of 12.5 acres each, with a 43.54 km road network to enhance accessibility and operations.
The high-profile event would attract key stakeholders, including the National Coordinator of the Presidential Green Money Project for Young Farmers, Hon. Charles Afolayan, former Vice-Chancellors of FUNAAB, past and present Presidents of the Alumni Association, leaders in the agro-industry, and government officials involved in agricultural and food security programmes.
The Alumni Farm Hub is expected to bolster agricultural productivity, foster alumni collaboration, and contribute to national food security.
