The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria, is set to host the International Society for Applied Ethology (ISAE) Africa 2026 Regional Conference, a premier gathering of researchers, Academics, policymakers, industry professionals, and students committed to advancing animal behaviour and welfare across Africa.

The conference, themed “Behaviour to Welfare: Driving Innovative and Inclusive Animal Ethology in Africa,” is scheduled to take place from August 18 to 19, 2026, at the Green Chamber, FUNAAB. The event would be held in a hybrid format, enabling participants from across Africa and beyond to attend either in person or virtually.

According to a memo by the Regional Secretary of ISAE Africa and West Asia, Dr. Oluwaseun Ojelade, the conference would serve as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, scientific dialogue, and collaboration on emerging issues in animal behaviour, animal welfare, and sustainable livestock production.

The 2-Day conference is expected to feature keynote presentations, scientific paper sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to strengthen research partnerships and promote innovative, evidence-based approaches to improving animal welfare and livestock systems in Africa.
