The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako and other Principal Officers of the University have lauded the commitment to duty, dedication and diligence of Mrs. Mariam Popoola, Deputy Registrar II, Senate and Admissions.
Commending Mrs. Popoola during a Send Forth, organised in her honour, the Vice-Chancellor described her as a seasoned Administrator, who demonstrated exceptional commitment to duty even till her last day in the service of the University.
Professor Salako charged her not to rest on her oars in her future endeavour but to continue to exhibit the exemplary traits which made her stand out in all the Departments and Units she served in the University.
In her remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Professor Morenike Dipeolu extolled the sterling qualities of Mrs. Popoola whom she said worked with her during her tenure as Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET).
Recalling the Colleges, Units and Committees where Mrs. Popoola served while in the University, the Registrar, Dr Bola Adekola said she worked passionately and cordially with the Admissions Committee (ADMICO), Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Committee of Deans and Directors (CODAD), College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM).
The Dean, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), Professor Olusiji Sowande described Mrs Popoola as “one in a million when it comes to administration”, adding that she was loved by all because of her excellent human relations.
Corroborating the Dean, the Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Dr Linda Onwuka also showered encomiums on the out-going Deputy Registrar.
She commended the Vice Chancellor for the honour extended to Mrs Popoola and recommended that members of staff who are outstanding in the discharge of their duties should be celebrated while still in the service of the University.
Speaking on behalf of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) Chairman, Comrade Rotimi Fasunwon, Mr. Olugbenga Alayode thanked Mrs. Popoola for being an active member of the Union and for her motherly support, even as he wished her success in her future endeavours.
Responding, Mrs Popoola thanked the University Management for appreciating her modest contribution to the University, assuring that she would continue to put in her best in all her future endeavour.
