Mr. Oladeji Olaide Ayodele, a student from the Department of Crop Protection, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been awarded the highly competitive Chinese Government Scholarship to pursue a PhD in Plant Pathology at the Northwest A&F University, Shaanxi, China.
Mr. Oladeji, who has since resumed at the University in China, his scholarship covered all expenses, including tuition, accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a living allowance, for the duration of his studies from September 2024 to July 2028.
The outstanding project, titled “Effect of Rock Dust and Poultry Manure on Nematodes Associated With Watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (THUNB.)] in Organic Field,” supervised by the immediate past Dean, COLPLANT, Prof. Jonathan Atungwu was a testament to Mr. Ayodele’s academic excellence, dedication, and hard work in his field of study.
His accomplishment reflected positively on FUNAAB and demonstrated the University’s commitment to nurturing excellent and ambitious students.
