The entrepreneurial drive of Nigerian youth was on full display, on November 5, 2025, at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), as the institution’s Student Union Government (FUNAABSU) unveiled the maiden edition of the FUNAAB Hustle Carnival, a colourful festival celebrating creativity, innovation, and campus-based enterprise.

From fashion designers to digital creators, bakers to tech innovators, students transformed the University grounds into a buzzing marketplace of ideas and enterprise. The carnival did more than entertain, it showcased how students were rewriting the narrative of youth empowerment through self-driven hustle and ingenuity.

According to the Vice-President of FUNAABSU, Comrade Simbiat Abiola, the initiative was born out of a desire to promote self-sufficiency and to inspire students to transform their skills into sustainable ventures.

“The Hustle Carnival is about celebrating the ingenuity of FUNAAB students. We want our colleagues to see that their talents are not just hobbies but sources of livelihood,” she said.
Comrade Abiola noted that the event marked the beginning of a new tradition aimed at building a vibrant culture of enterprise and innovation within the campus. “This is the first of its kind, and we intend to make it bigger and better in the next edition,” she added with enthusiasm.

The carnival featured product exhibitions, live performances, and creative showcases, attracting a large crowd of students eager to support and learn from one another. It also provided opportunities for networking, collaboration, and visibility, key ingredients for entrepreneurial growth.

For many students, the event was more than just a fair; it was an affirmation that the Nigerian youth, even within the university walls, can create solutions, inspire change, and build sustainable future through innovation and hard work.

As the music faded and the stands packed up, one message lingered, the future of enterprise in Nigeria is being shaped not just in boardrooms, but in vibrant, idea-filled campuses like FUNAAB.
