… Emphasises Quality, Timely Completion

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), led by its Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, on January 24, 2025, embarked on an inspection tour of ongoing projects across the University to assess progress and ensure adherence to quality standards.
The inspection began with the road leading to the Oluwafemi Balogun Ceremonial Building, now over 80% complete.
Speaking on the state of the project, the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, Engr. Kehinde Bamisile noted the contractor’s strict compliance with industry standards, adding that road markings would be installed upon completion of the project.
Expressing satisfaction, the Pro-Chancellor commended the pace of work, stressing the importance of maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project.
The Governing Council members thereafter proceeded to the TETFund-sponsored Greenhouse and Classroom Project. The Pro-Chancellor stressed the need for durable materials to ensure the project’s sustainability and urged its timely completion.
Another notable milestone was the rehabilitation of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS), which was completed within the stipulated 12-week timeline, showcasing effective Project Management.
Further stops included the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory Building, the construction of a new hostel, the rehabilitation of the Biotechnology Centre/Central Laboratory Building, the Construction of the College of Physical Science (COLPHYS) Building II and the rehabilitation of the Cashew Processing Factory. At each site, the Pro-Chancellor reiterated the importance of meeting quality benchmarks and project deadlines.
The inspection concluded with a visit to Musarchy Farms, underscoring FUNAAB’s commitment to fostering industry collaborations and promoting hands-on learning for students. Commending the Farm’s operations, the Oba Olabomi highlighted its role in driving agricultural innovation and research.
The tour reflected FUNAAB’s dedication to infrastructural development, academic excellence, and strategic partnerships, reinforcing its mission to remain a leader in agricultural education and innovation.
