The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has announced the appointment of three distinguished academics as Directors of key units within the University.
Prof. Olusegun Idowu, a Governing Council Member of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and a scholar from the Department of Animal Nutrition, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), has been appointed the Director of the Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR). His 3-year tenure, approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, would run from January 9, 2025, to January 10, 2028.

Similarly, Prof. Oluseyi Akinloye, a former Dean of the College of Biosciences (COLBIOS), from the Department of Biochemistry has been appointed as the new Director of the Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES). His tenure would also span three years, effective January 9, 2025.
In a related development, Prof. Olugbenga Kehinde from the Department of Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET), has been appointed as the Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). His appointment, likewise approved by the Vice-Chancellor, would be effective from January 15, 2025, to January 14, 2028.

These appointments recognise their exceptional academic expertise, leadership qualities, and commitment to advancing the University’s mission.
