The Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) has indicated a possible collaboration with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in the area of Research and Development.

The collaboration was hinted in a memo by Dr. G. A. Adebayo of the Physics Department, which informed of the interest from Dr. Ryo Maezono of the JAIST School of Information Science.

In the memo, Dr. Adebayo stated that Dr. Maezono and his team of two scientists have shown interest in visiting FUNAAB to interact with staff and postgraduate students of the Department of Physics.

With a view of initiating research collaboration, Dr. Maezono has also agreed to give a seminar on opportunities and grants available through various JAIST programmes and activities.

According to Dr. Adebayo, Dr. Maezono and his team’s visit is hoped to result in development of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between JAIST and FUNAAB. The visit has tentatively been fixed for March or April, 2013.
