The Lakem Support Foundation (LSF), on January 13, 2025, provided examination food palliatives to 25 indigent students at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The Foundation, led by Mrs. Olukemi Fashina, a Chief Laboratory Scientist and alumna of the University, stated that the initiative was aimed at supporting indigent students, especially during examination periods.
Mrs. Fashina, fondly referred to as “Maami Water” by the students, emphasised the importance of reducing student hunger to enable them to focus on their studies. She said that the Foundation would continue to provide support to more students in the future and called on others to join in the effort to combat hunger among students.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, who was represented by Prof. Oluseyi Ojekunle, the Deputy Dean of the Unit, expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s generosity, charging the students to utilise the support to concentrate on their studies and avoid any form of misconduct during the examinations.
The initiative by the Lakem Support Foundation was commendable and served as a reminder of the importance of supporting indigent students.
