The Odeda Area Command of Man ‘O’ War Nigeria has honoured the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako in recognition of his commitment and support to the cause of the organisation and series of progress recorded in the University. Presenting the Award of Excellence and gift to the Vice-Chancellor, the Odeda Area Commander of Man ‘O’ War, Comrade Charles Geteloma, extolled the virtues of the Vice Chancellor in terms of his uprightness, being focused and having strong determination towards moving the University on the path to attaining a world-class status.

Comrade Geteloma commended past and present management of FUNAAB for their positive and invaluable contributions to achieving the goals of paramilitary organisations operating in the University. While delivering the goodwill messages from the Divisional Commander and State Commander, the Odeda Area Commander appreciated Prof. Salako for his immense support in the last three years of the Vice Chancellor’s administration. Responding, the Vice-Chancellor appreciated the gesture and charged the organisation not to rest on its oars in the area of community development.

Prof. Salako advised Man ‘O’ War to involve itself, as it has in the past, in the provision of palliative work on the Camp-Alabata Road and the ever-busy Camp-Kotopo section of the Abeokuta Ibadan Road pending when government intervention would come. Present at the event were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Prof. Clement Adeofun; Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola; Bursar; Mr. Chukwunwike Ezekpeazu; University Librarian, Dr. Fehintola Onifade; Deputy Registrar I (Vice Chancellor’s Office), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; and Secretary, Odeda Area Command of Man ‘O’ War, Mr. Wasiu Bakare.
