In a bid to foster agricultural research and improve research output, the Nimbe Adedipe Library (NAL) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has initiated a collaborative effort with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
A delegation from NAL, led by Mr. Akinkumi Omotosho, accompanied by Mr. Kehinde Bamigbose and Mrs. Chiemenem Chioma, visited the IITA Library, where they were received by the IITA Librarian, Mr. Soji Oloyede.
Mr. Oloyede expressed his delight at the partnership, emphasising IITA’s goal of creating a comprehensive information database for knowledge sharing among agricultural institutions.
He commended the University Librarian, Dr. Abayomi Owolabi, for promoting access to information for researchers and extended an invitation to FUNAABites to utilise the IITA Library for research purposes, upon presentation of their University identification cards.
The partnership aimed to facilitate collaboration in areas such as Librarian training, exchange of research publications, library resource donations, and knowledge sharing.
Responding, Mr. Akinkumi Omotosho, leader of the NAL Team, expressed gratitude to the IITA Management for their warm reception and commitment to resource sharing.
The meeting was attended by various Heads of Departments from IITA, solidifying the institutions’ commitment to enhancing agricultural research and knowledge sharing.
