The ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library (NAL) has been selected as the venue for the upcoming 2024 Workshop of the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) for the Southwest Geo-Political Zone.
The event themed “Data, linked data and visualisation in libraries,” is scheduled hold from Monday, July 22, to Friday, July 26, 2024.
The LRCN, operating under the purview of the Federal Ministry of Education, is entrusted with the crucial task of advancing the professional standards of librarianship in Nigeria.
It plays a pivotal role in determining the qualifications and competencies required for registration and practice in the field.
Expected to participate in this Workshop are practicing Librarians and library educators representing various types of libraries and library schools across the six states comprising Southwest Geo-Political Zone.
The University Librarian, Dr. Abayomi Owolabi expressed profound appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde for granting NAL the privilege of hosting this significant event.
The Workshop promises to be an invaluable opportunity for knowledge exchange and professional development in the realm of library sciences.
