The National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team today, December 2, 2024, arrived at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to assess the Electrical Engineering Programme at the College of Engineering (COLENG).

The Team, led by Prof. Umana Itaketo stated that the purpose of the visit was to evaluate the programme’s quality by reviewing its facilities, equipment, staff, and students. He assured that the exercise was aimed at fostering improvements rather than identifying faults and expressed confidence in a fruitful engagement at FUNAAB.

Welcoming the Team, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, reaffirmed FUNAAB’s commitment to academic excellence. He emphasised the importance of such evaluations in enhancing programme quality and assured the Team of the University’s transparency and readiness for the review.

The Vice-Chancellor, therefore, encouraged open interactions with staff and students to ensure a holistic understanding of the Department’s operations. He reiterated the University’s dedication to continuous improvement and pledged to address any identified gaps promptly.

Present at the event were key University officials, including the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi; Deputy Registrar II, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda; Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Olajide Sogunle, and the Senior Planning Officer, Mr. Oluwaseun Olufela.

Others were the Dean, COLENG, Prof. Olawale Dairo; Deputy Dean, Prof. Olayide Adetunji; Ag. Head, Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Oluwaseun Adebisi, among others.
