NUC Accreditation Team Visits FUNAAB

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has assessed the University’s MBA programme, preparatory to accreditation.

Addressing the team after the exercise, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako thanked the team for doing a thorough job, noting that the University keeps an open mind anytime the team comes around.

The Vice-Chancellor said that FUNAAB is endowed with good Researchers but only fall short of fund to meet its research needs.

He charged the team to be objective and positive, noting that no institution of learning in the country is 100% perfect.

Professor Salako said that the University is trying its best through the fund provided by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and can only hope for more funds to meet the research needs of the University.

He however told the team that the University will recognise areas identified as its shortcomings and would work on it for the advancement of the Institution.

Welcoming the team on arrival, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Morenike Dipeolu said that FUNAAB takes NUC assignment serious and harped on objectivity on the part of the Accreditation team.

She said that the MBA programme has been on in FUNAAB for sometimes with good feedbacks from the industry and the products.

Professor Dipeolu also tasked the team to feel free to tell the University anything they feel is needed to make the programme more robust.

On his part, the Accreditation Team Leader, Professor Chibueze Ogbonna thanked the University for hosting them and promised that they will be neutral and not bias on their judgement.

Professor Ogbonna said that the whole idea behind accreditation is to move the country forward, noting that the team and the University are working together for a common goal.

As his parting shot on their departure after presenting the teams position to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ogbonna pledged that the team will be willing to support FUNAAB whenever it calls.
