The University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has expressed satisfaction over the successful conduct of the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Screening, even as he commended members of staff for a job well done.
Fielding questions from FUNAAB’s Bulletin Crew after his painstaking on the spot assessment tour of venues and facilities dedicated for the conduct of the screening, Professor Salako who was apparently ecstatic and exuding confidence said it was orderly and smooth, describing the exercise as a huge success.
The Vice-Chancellor who was accompanied by fellow Principal Officers and Heads of essential service providing arms of the university, however thanked God and expressed profound gratitude to staffers on duty for their unflinching commitment and dedication to the conduct of the screening.
Professor Salako precisely stated that he was particularly happy with
the high level of synergy and harmonious relationship between Academic and Non-Teaching Staff, who were saddled with the responsibility of conducting the screening.
He pointed out categorically that given the exemplary and emulatable robust rapport at which the Academic and Non-teaching staff discharged their duties during the screening, the future of the University is very bright.
His words, “We must give credit to all our staff that are involved in this exercise. Just this morning, my first port of call was FUNAABOT base in Camp to thank the drivers for their dedication”. “I have seen a lot of commitment, everything has been orderly and this is because the staff are dedicated and doing their work very well. If you look at the set of people who are in charge of this exercise, they include academic and non-teaching staff and that synergy is very great”, he added.
Speaking further, Professor Salako said, “What this connotes for future conduct of Post-UTME exercise is that if we continues with this kind of commitment we are receiving from our staff, I think FUNAAB will be better in terms of admission and management of our academic affairs and other responsibilities at large”.
FUNAAB Bulletin crew recalled that the Vice-Chancellor while monitoring the conduct of the screening was amazed and appreciative seeing elderly Professors, including Professor Chryss Onwuka, Professor Toyin Arowolo, Professor Christian Ikeobi, Professor Johnson Ariyo and Professor Oluyemisi Eromosele serving as chief invigilators or assisting towards ensuring the success of the exercise.
