The London Academy for Higher Education (LAHE), had met with the University Management, to explore ways of fostering and strengthening academic partnerships, as well as widening the frontiers of linkages.

The meeting which took place in the office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Professor Chryss Ijeoma Onwuka, was well attended by the representatives of LAHE and the University, with the Director of UNAAB’s Centre for Internationalisation  and Partnerships (CENIP), Dr. Olukayode Akinyemi, in the University’s Management team.

Speaking at the parley, the Leader of LAHE delegation and its Director of Studies, Dr. Larry Jones-Esan, said the team was in UNAAB to thank the Management and the entire academic community for the patronage of its programmes.

Dr. Jones-Esan said LAHE team came to solicit the University’s assistance in the areas of academic guidance and patronage, towards the building of its Centre in Nigeria.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Chyrss Onwuka, lauded the collaboration between the University and LAHE in the area of capacity development of the University staff.

The Vice-Chancellor assured that the University would always be ready to embrace partnerships, geared towards enhancing further fulfilment of the dreams of the institution’s Founding Fathers.

While pointing out that discussion on “the validation and partnership proposal” to the University on some Postgraduate programmes was on-going, Prof. Onwuka stressed the need to weigh the pros and cons in order to reach a healthy agreement that will be of mutual benefits to both parties.

Shedding more light on the proposal, the Director of CENIP, Dr. Akinyemi informed that LAHE runs corporate training programmes that had trained some of the University’s Accountants and Administrators in London and Dubai adding that “the report we got from our staff showed that they benefited from the training”.
