Professor Grace Sokoya, the immediate past Director, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), has completed her 5-year tenure as the Director of the Scheme and bowed out meritoriously.
The 7th Director and the first female, Professor Sokoya assumed duty on September 23, 2013 and had her valedictory meeting with the SIWES Committee, headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Morenike Dipeolu, to notify the committee of her exist.
While she served as the Director, Professor Sokoya recorded achievement in the compilation and production of a 144-page SIWES pocket guide for students. The publication contains information and guidelines for successful participation in SIWES.
Another milestone during her tenure is the production of SIWES Compendium (For SIWES Ccoordinators at Directorate, College and Departmental levels). It is a compilation of training materials and papers presented at the three editions of Step-Down Capacity-Building Workshops held for College representatives, Departments and Farm Practical Year Coordinators.
