The Registrar Dr. ‘Bola Adekola has charged Secretaries in the University to embrace peace, be diligent in the discharge of their duties and united, as unity in strength can never loss its credence.
Speaking at the University Secretarial Staff Association (USSA) FUNAAB Branch End of the year party celebration, Dr. Adekola urged USSA members to continue to discharge their duties with utmost dedication as their role is important to the progress and development of the system.
Commending USSA members, the Registrar noted that there has been a lot of personal improvement on the part of USSA members as none of them had any cause to appear before the Disciplinary Committee in the out-gone year.
He urged them to always appreciate themselves even when no one appreciates them, and guard the unity that exists between them, adding that people should learn to do their work in such a way that their impact will be felt whenever they are absent.
Appreciating the University Management for their unflinching support and love towards the Association in the past, the Chairperson USSA Mrs. Adebola Aina assured the Management that they will continue to discharge their duties with diligence and utmost sense of responsibility.
She congratulated all her colleagues for witnessing the event, praying that they will witness more of it in sound health. She implored them to always be conscious of their role as Secretary, be good ambassadors of the Association and FUNAAB as a whole.
In his goodwill message, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) Chairman, Comrade Rotimi Fasunwo congratulated the Association for the success of the event and urged members who are about to retire to be proud of the profession even after they must have retired from service.
He admonished them to continue to do their work diligently for posterity to speak well of them so that the upcoming generation will benefit from their hard work.
The Highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to retiring members of the Association.
