The Department of Veterinary Surgery and Theriogenology was established in 2019 from two defunct Departments name viz: Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery as well as Department of Veterinary Public Health and Reproduction. The Department is responsible for teaching of courses in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, Orthopaedic Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Large and Small Animal Surgery, Clinical diagnostic procedures and Management of various medical and surgical diseases conditions. Other courses taught by the Department are Veterinary Obstertrics and Gynaecology, Andrology, Artificial Insemination and Diagnosis and management of reproductive disease conditions.
