Abstract
The study examined differences in public assessment of water resources planning in Oyo State (southwest, Nigeria) based on certain socio-demographic variables such as gender and socio-economic background. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the way public assessed
the planning of water resources on the basis of the two socio-demographic variables. The implication of the findings were discussed and recommendations made as to how water resources planning can be made more effective and result-oriented in order to ensure the availability of potable water and its efficient use.
