Peter Aniwe Dele is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pasture and Range Management (PRM),
College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM), Federal University of Agriculture
Abeokuta (FUNAAB)..
Dr Dele earned his B. Agric., M. Agric. and PhD degrees from University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (now
Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta), Nigeria. Prior to bagging his PhD, he won a TWAS-CAS PhD
fellowship that was tenable at the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Science,
Changsha, Hunan Province, China in 2011. He was at Christian-Albrechts University Kiel, Germany in 2014
on a TWAS-DFG postdoctoral visit and was a Research scholar in the department of Animal Sciences,
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, USA from 2021-2023.
He is a Forage-Livestock Scientist with strong affinity for Pasture Production, Conservation and Utilization,
experienced in Pasture Research Methodologies, Data Analyses and Presentation. His research cum
production interests includes irrigated pasture production, organic pasture production, forage conservation
(hay and silage making) and utilization. He has also worked on developing a low cost pasture based
integrated farming system, evaluation of maize forage yield and quality, feedlot vs Pasture-lot systems,
grazing systems, characterization of forage crops and phytoremediation using forage crops. He is currently
working on nutritional enhancement of silage for beef and dairy animals as well as development, evaluation
and utilization of agro-waste based silages.
He consults for different farms on pasture production and livestock management. He is an international
conference speaker. He has published articles in refereed journals both locally and internationally. He
served as the National Secretary of the Society for Grassland Research and Development in Nigeria
(SOGREDEN) between 2017 and 2021. He is a founding member of the Silage Group, Nigeria.
