FOLORUNSO Olusegun 

Short Profile

Olusegun Folorunso is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in addition he is serving as the Director, Center for Innovation & Strategy in Learning and Teaching (CISLT) of the University. He is an Alumnus of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and University of Lagos respectively. He obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science option) in 1992 with Second Class Upper Division from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from the University of Lagos in 1997. He obtained Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Computer Science at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2003. Prof. Olusegun Folorunso was born in Abeokuta on October 7, 1968, and hails from Itoko , Abeokuta, in Ogun state, Nigeria.. He rose through the ladder of academic prowess as Graduate Assistant (Computer Science) in 1995 to his present position as a Professor of Computer Science. As an erudite scholar, he has a great wealth of research experience which culminated into several academic publications. He has supervised more than 100 Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. With almost 20 years of interacting with different categories of staff and students, he has what it take to manage materials and Human Resources within an academic environment. Apart from teaching, he has served his University Administratively as Coordinator/Head of different Units & centers for more 10 years. Between 2012 and 2013, he led the team that made his University to be the 2nd best university in Nigeria twice in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. Recently, he contributed to development of proposal that won a research grant on the establishment of Center for Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CADESE) being sponsored by World Bank at Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta He has published extensively on a wide variety of subjects relating to the conception, theory and analysis of Information/Intelligent Systems. He has visited Ball State University, USA as a research scholar sponsored by United Nations University Institute of Software Technology, Macau. His earlier work was concerned in the main areas of Databases, intelligent and Information Systems. His current research is focused on Applied Computing & Informatics, Quality Assurance in Higher Education. He is a member of Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
