Labode has proved in his thesis how the visual designs have infused cultural perceptions on different textile materials with varied aesthetics outputs that lead to the traditional identity. His research reveal that cultural symbolic designs can boost commercial activities and also enhance economic value in and among small-scale industrial societies.

Designs in textile can be viewed as a synergy between art, technology and science by creating and developing visual aesthetic, agro-economic and functional values in textile production. Nigerian evolution of textile designs practice and a craft-based design practice have prominently gain momentum in featuring numerous craft activities that have become a cultural motivating factor. Craft designs generally consist of the (3D) three dimensional elements, these include forms, objects and the surface, while colours, lines and patterns represent the (2D)two dimensional features.

This concept of textile design embraces the creation of functional designs with intrinsic aesthetic satisfaction in visual culture as well as objects in natural environments. Transformation of comprehensive layout in three-dimensional elements (3D) visuals into complete mechanical is known as textile print that has attracted significant attention from both industry and academia.
