Dr Olurode was born on March 5, 1968 to the family of Late Alhaaji Bilaal Alade OLURODE (Balogun Alarobo of Iwoland) and Late Madam Hamdat Arike OLURODE of Olurode Compound, Gidigbo Quarters, Iwo in the State of Osun.
Dr Olurode started his education career at District Council School, Laito, Iwo (1975-1981). He attended Baptist High School, Adeeke, Iwo (1981-1986) for his West African School / GCE O’ Level Certificate and later proceeded to the University of Ibadan (1987-1994) where he obtained Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. He underwent the mandatory one year NYSC programme in Jos, Plateau State (1994-1995). On completion of the Youth service, he enrolled for his postgraduate studies at the University of Ibadan (1995-2004) and obtained Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) in Theriogenology with PhD grade in the year 2004. Whilst undergoing the postgraduate training, he ventured into the Professional private service and served in the various capacities (1995-2006). Dr Olurode later joined the services of the then University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in December, 2006 at the College of Veterinary Medicine as Lecturer Grade II and taught and still teaches courses in Theriogenology. Dr Olurode enrolled for his PhD (Theriogenology) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2009 and completed it in November, 2016. Dr Olurode was promoted to Lecturer Grade I in October 1, 2011 and later Senior Lecturer position in October 1, 2017. In 2010, Dr Olurode attended the 14th regular course of the University Biotechnology and obtained Certificate in Molecular Biology. Dr Olurode is serving as Clinician (with specialty in Large Animal Theriogenology) to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, College of Veterinary Medicine, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
Dr Olurode is a recipient of the following Prizes and awards in his Honours and Recognition: Best Graduating Student, Baptist High School, Iwo (1986), Best Graduating Student, Iwo Local Govt. Council (1986), Award of Excellence (Al-Mustakshif), MSSN-FUNAAB (2017) and Distinguished Role Model Award, The Wings Schools, Iwo (2018). Dr. Olurode has contributed academic articles to both referred local and international Journals and Conference Proceedings, co-authored a Book, he is a Public Commentator and has contributed articles to some national tabloids on burning and professional issues. He is a Presenter and Producer of programmes at TV and Radio Stations. He served as Associate Editor, The Muslim Vet., Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan (1992-1993) and Managing Editor, MSSN Press Organization, University of Ibadan (1992-1994).
Dr Olurode has served in various academic and administrative positions within the University and contributed immensely to the larger society. Dr Olurode focuses his research on large animal reproduction, livestock production, assisted reproductive technologies including oestrous synchronization, artificial insemination etc, as well as herd health and associated fertility problems. Dr Olurode is a member of some Professional bodies like Veterinary Council of Nigeria, Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association, Nigerian Theriogenologists etc. His hobbies include Meditation, Counselling, Travelling and Reading. Dr Olurode is happily Married and blessed with Children.
