Short Profile

FEMI OWORU, joined the services of the University in 2014. He is currently the Head of
Department of Accounting, College of Management Sciences, Federal University of
Agriculture Abeokuta. His Research interest is corporate finance, corporate governance,
Management and accounting information systems. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
Accounting from Babcock University, M.Sc Finance and M.Sc Accounting from the University
of Ibadan. He is the 100level adviser to 100 level undergraduate students in the department
of Accounting. He also supervises 400level students for their final year project and mentors
students, getting them acquainted with skills set needed in the corporate world and also
inculcating the corporate culture. Before now he worked in a frontline bank in Nigeria for
some years where he gathered industry experience that prepared him to passionately merge

real life experience with academics. His passion for research and to positively impact the
youth and the nation at large as made him join the academia.
He has occupied different academic positions within the Universities in Nigeria such as
Secretary, final year project committee of the Department, Head of the Department of
Accounting, Chairman of Curriculum Review Committee of the Department, Member of
Curriculum Review of the College and University.
Mr Oyefemi Oworu has published twelve (12) articles in learned journals (both local and
foreign).
