A delegation from Terra Academy For The Arts (TAFTA) has visited the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to empower students, as well as foster collaboration between the Academy and FUNAAB.

The primary focus of the collaboration was to provide free training opportunities, particularly aimed at female students, in various artistic and entrepreneurial disciplines.

Led by the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies (CENTS), Prof. Emily Ayo-John, the TAFTA Team met with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Adebayo, and this laid the groundwork for a joint initiative between TAFTA and CENTS to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

Expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration, Prof. Adebayo welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to benefit students significantly.

Prof. Ayo-John, speaking on behalf of CENTS, stressed the importance of such initiatives in providing students with practical skills and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

She added that participants in the Training Programme are expected to receive certifications, mentorship, internship opportunities, and access to startup capital loans through First City Monument Bank (FCMB).

According to her, “These resources aim to equip students with the tools they need to succeed in their chosen fields.”

Scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the Training Programme would cover Scriptwriting Arts, Business and Entrepreneurship, Sound Design, Stage Lighting, and Animation.

As both institutions move forward with the partnership, they aimed to create an inclusive environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and equal opportunities for all FUNAABites.
