GUIDE FOR PREPARATION OF ABSTRACT, FULL PAPER AND POSTER

Preparation of Abstract

Abstract must state briefly the objective of the study; highlight the major results and the conclusion. Font style-Garamond, font size-12 points, not more than 250 words are allowed.Not more than (5) keywords should be inserted below the abstract.

Preparation of Full paper

Manuscripts written in English should be typed using MS word, single spaced on A4 paper with 2.5cm and submitted electronically to nwcfunaab@gmail.com.One hard copyshould be submitted at the conference immediately after presentation.Submitted manuscripts must not exceed 15 A4 pages (including tables,figures and references). Only articles that conform to the recommended format shall be considered for review.
FORMAT: manuscripts should normally be divided into distinct sections as follows; the text should be uniform 11 points font size (Garamond), single line spacing.

TITLE:
Should be presented on the first page along with abstract and keyword(s) with font style Calibri 15 points bold. Author’s name and affiliation should be font style- Garamond, and size- 10 points
Running title and lead author should appear on each page of the paper.

KEYWORD(S):
Not more than (5) keywords should be inserted below the abstract. Keywords(s) should reflect the content of the paper for easy retrieval of the paper.

INTRODUCTION:
Should highlight the topic, using appropriate and up-to-date references followed by a short list of the objectives clearly indicating the aim of the research performed.

MATERIALS AND METHODS:
This section should be written in a manner that enables the reader to follow in detail both the materials and methods of uncommon procedures, in order to reproduce the experiments. An additional short description is advisable if the references are not accessible or are given in unfamiliar languages. Scientific and vernacular names should be written in full at first citation and in italics. Subsequently, the genus names may be abbreviated.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION:
result should describe Tables, Figures, Schemes, formulae etc.,presented in the article. Contents of Tables and Figures should only be repeated in the text, while drawing inferences to highlight the findings of the study. Font style- Garamond, Font size-10. Experimental data should be evaluated by suitable statistical methods, where applicable.The results should be discussed with regards to current knowledge and objectives of the research.

CONCLUSION:
This should be a distinct inference drawn from the findings of the research.

This is optional.

REFERENCES: The Harvard style of referencing should be adopted, i.e. reference should be listed in alphabetical order. The list of references should include only those publications, which are cited in the text. References to periodicals must be indicated by author’s name and year (in parenthesis) in the text. The title of the work, the volume (italicized), and number of periodical should be indicated. The beginning and end pages of the article should also be indicated, e.g. Meadows, A.B. (2007). Illustrations and Figures:
Each figure should be given an Arabic number, e.g. Table 1. Scientific measurements should be given in SI Units. Internationally recognized abbreviations may only be used after the long form has been written and explained. Limit the numbers of illustration only to the most essential ones. Express “hours” as “h”, “minutes” as “min”, “seconds” as “sec”.

Tables:
Each table should be given an Arabic number, e.g. Table 1. The title of the tables should be indicated at the top. Each table should be on separate page. The numbers should be limited to the absolutely necessary ones. Footnotes to Tables should be typed below the Table and should be referred to by superscripts lowercase letters. No crisscross lines should be used. Only two horizontal lines should be ruled, one under the Table-heading and the other at the bottom-line of the table. Tables should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscripts (e.g. in graphs).

Preparation of Poster

Preparation of a poster: Prepare them in English. Your poster should be self-explanatory. Author(s) should explain details and discuss particular points raised by the visitor. Presentation by a poster should be visually appealing. Poster should include diagrams and charts, tables and schemes, graphs, photographs and brief written texts like: abstract, introduction, methods, results, conclusions and references. Panel materials must be very light and the poster could be of one sheet, so that it can be rolled up for easy transport and mounting. Alternatively it could be prepared in separate pieces for individual mounting, not exceeding the 90×120 cm format. Panels are available for the display of each poster.
Display: Posters must not exceed 120 cm high by 90 cm wide. The poster must be mounted vertically. The poster title should go centred in the upper part; in bold, in title case, font size of 80 to 100-points. Use a simple font like Trebuchet, Helvetica, Arial or similar (sans serif). Posters should be readable from a distance of 2 meters (6 feet). Main text should be of approximately 24 to 30 pts. Headings should be 50 to 60 pts or larger Photographs should be of a minimum of 15 by 20 cm. Caption of Tables, Figures and Photographs should be 18 pts. Names of each author and their regular mail addresses should also be included centred bellow the title. It is recommended to include also email address of the author to whom correspondence is to be directed. Electrical outlets will not be provided in the poster presentation area. The use of a computer (lap-top or similar) is discouraged. The Organizing Committee will assign a place (and a number) in a designated room in order to install each poster, according to the Session.
What to expect during the exhibition of posters Author should remain at the poster site at the time scheduled for exhibition in the Program, ready to discuss his/her work. You may prepare hand-outs related to your poster for distribution at the meeting. Hand-out should not contain any advertising. Distribution of personal cards to visitors helps to initiate a conversation as well as a future interaction/communication.
