A recently-appointed Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom (UK), Dr. Lateef Jolaoso has completed his research visitation to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Dr. Jolaoso, a 2014 graduate of the Department of Mathematics, FUNAAB, represented the University at the 2013 National Mathematics Competition at the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja.
After leaving FUNAAB, Dr. Jolaoso proceeded for his MSc and PhD Degrees at the University of Kwazulu-natal, Durban, South Africa in 2017 and 2019, respectively and was supervised by an alumnus of FUNAAB, Professor Oluwatosin Mewomo. He is until his recent appointment, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Sefako Makgatho Health Science University, (formerly Medical University of Southern Africa), Pretoria, South Africa.
Dr. Jolaoso was in FUNAAB for a Two-Month Research visitation which ended on September 29, 2021. During the visitation, he collaborated with the Head of Mathematics Department, Professor Ishola Olajuwon and some staff members of the Department, including in-depth discussions with quite a number of Postgraduate students in the areas of writing papers for journals. He also revised some earlier submitted articles which bears FUNAAB as his second address and three of such articles have been accepted in different Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), journals. His research area is Nonlinear and continuous optimization and he has published more than 80 articles in various ISI/Scopus indexed international journals, in addition to being a Reviewer for a good number of such journals.
Dr. Jolaoso, who was born in Lagos and a native of Abeokuta appreciated the University Management for the hospitality and opportunity given him during the two month visitation. Meanwhile, Dr. Jolaoso’s BSc Degree project was supervised by Professor James Oguntuase.
