VC Congratulates Staff, Students on Full Accreditation of 18 Academic Programmes

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, today, May 7, 2025, after receiving the good news, extended heartfelt congratulations to members of staff and students on the successful outcome of the recent accreditation exercise, which saw 18 Academic Programmes granted full accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

The 18 Programmes are Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Forestry and Wildlife Management, Nutrition and Dietetics, Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology, as well as
Computer Science.

Others are Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Management and Toxicology, including Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Geology, and Veterinary Medicine.

The Vice-Chancellor described the achievement as a significant milestone in the University’s commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance. He lauded the collective efforts of the Academic and Non-Teaching staff, whose dedication, preparation, and professionalism contributed immensely to the success of the exercise.

In particular, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the vital role played by the students, noting that the accrediting teams engaged directly with them during the evaluation process. “Our students represented the University with dignity, confidence, and clarity. Their contributions during the interviews were crucial in showcasing the strength and quality of our academic environment,” he stated.

He emphasised that the accreditation outcome affirms the University’s unwavering pursuit of global best practices in teaching, learning, and research, and serves as motivation to continue raising the bar in all areas of institutional performance.

Prof. Kehinde, therefore, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their tireless efforts and encouraged the entire University Community to sustain the momentum in preparation for future assessments.
