The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Kolawole Salako has called for commitment, support and cooperation of members of staff of the College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), College of Biosciences (COLBIOS) and Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre (AMREC), in order to take the University to the next level, even as the Colleges and Centre articulated their achievements and challenges.
The Vice-Chancellor noted the challenges, recalling that immediately he assumed office, he set-up two Task Forces, on electricity and water supply, saying he’s expecting improvement in those areas very soon.
Professor Salako frowned at cosmetic attitude in carrying-out official duties, noting that things should be done properly in order to make the system work better.
Professor Salako encouraged members of staff to embark on community engagements, stressing that it was not only in Agriculture that extension is done. He commended COLBIOS for conducting DNA tests and establishing Botanical Garden, among others.
He, noted that loyalty should be to the system and not to individuals.
The Dean, COLPHYS, Professor Amidu Mustapha; Dean, COLBIOS, Professor Oluseyi Akinloye and the Director, AMREC, Professor Victor Olowe assured the Vice-Chancellor of their support and cooperation.
