In a bid to provide potable water for the entire University community, Professor Felix Kolawole Salako led a team to assess the progress of work at the University Dam on August 31, 2021. Concurrently, a land is being developed for crop irrigation close to the farm. The Vice-Chancellor also saw a window of opportunity for aquaculture and fish farming with the facility. The visibly elated Vice-Chancellor upon seeing the large expanse of water at the ongoing construction site, noted the importance of the Dam to the University in terms of provision of potable water, source of more IGR and training of the students. He, therefore, expressed satisfaction at the level of work, commending the Contractors for being on schedule. In the meantime, the University Dam sits on a space for 5.6 Billion litres of water, making approximately 170,000 fully-loaded petrol tankers. The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied on the inspection by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Professor Clement Adeofun; Asst. Chief Environmental Officer, Mr. Peter Bolarinwa and Engr. Babatunde Otesile of the Vice-Chancellor’s Project Management Unit.
