VC Leads Campaign Against Examination Malpractices

… As Judicial Council Unveils Billboard to Promote Academic Integrity

In a bold move to reinforce the University’s commitment to academic excellence, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for examination malpractices.

Speaking today, June 4, 2025, during the unveiling of an Anti-examination Malpractice Billboard erected by the FUNAABSU Judicial Council, Prof. Kehinde described any form of academic dishonesty as unacceptable and urged students to uphold the core values of integrity, hard work, and discipline.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasised that FUNAAB graduates were globally recognised for their competence and high employability rating, a feat that contributed to the University’s recent recognition as the 2nd Best Performing Federal University in Nigeria for graduate employability. He maintained that upholding the University’s proud tradition of academic integrity remained a top priority.

Prof. Kehinde commended the Judicial Council of the Students’ Union for initiating the campaign and for contributing meaningfully to the promotion of ethical conduct on campus.

Also speaking at the event, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for his unwavering support for student-led initiatives that promote excellence. He described Prof. Kehinde as a father figure who listens and supports the aspirations of students.

The Dean noted that the success of the billboard project was made possible through the encouragement and financial support of the Vice-Chancellor. He encouraged students to steer clear of all forms of examination malpractice, describing the VC’s stance as a reflection of his integrity and dedication to students’ welfare.

In his remarks, the Chief Judge of the FUNAABSU Judicial Council, Hon. Justice Moses Owolabi, expressed gratitude to the University Management, especially the Vice-Chancellor, for facilitating the realisation of the project. He noted that the strategically located billboard served as a constant reminder to students about the importance of academic honesty.

Hon. Owolabi called on all students to take ownership of the campaign and support the ongoing efforts to curb examination malpractice across the campus.

The event also marked the final public engagement of the outgone Students’ Union administration, highlighting their legacy of upholding integrity and accountability within the student community.
