VC Urges Excellence at Registry’s New Year Prayer Meeting

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has urged staff members to aim for excellence in 2025 to sustain FUNAAB’s global reputation for distinction.

Delivering his Address at the 2025 New Year Prayer Meeting organised by the Registry today, January 28, 2025, at the Red Chamber, the Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Kola Adebayo, commended the Registry staff for their hard work in 2024. He highlighted the recognition of FUNAAB by the Federal Character Commission as a testament to the University’s dedication and urged staff members to continue maintaining high standards. He emphasised the significance of staff members’ contributions, which resonated beyond the University’s boundaries.

The Vice-Chancellor further revealed plans to fully digitise the Registry’s operations, urging staff to enhance their computer skills in anticipation of the transition from traditional memo systems to digital platforms.

Earlier in his Opening Remarks, the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, explained that the Prayer Meeting was organised to express gratitude for God’s protection in 2024 and to seek His guidance for 2025. He used the occasion to extend New Year greetings to staff and formally connect with them since assuming office.

Dr. Adeniyi acknowledged the contributions of past leaders, expressed optimism for continued progress, and reminded staff of the importance of adaptability in a changing environment.

As part of his transformation agenda, the Registrar announced the establishment of various committees to drive positive change in the Registry. He also unveiled a bi-monthly recognition initiative aimed at rewarding excellence among Registry staff.

Additionally, Dr. Adeniyi disclosed the recent promotion of two Deputy Registrars I (DR I) and five Deputy Registrars II (DR II) staff members, stressing the critical role of teamwork and unity in achieving FUNAAB’s goals.

The Prayer Meeting served as a platform to set the tone for a year filled with innovative initiatives designed to enhance FUNAAB’s standing as a leading University in Nigeria and beyond.
