The Prof. Kolawole Salako-led administration of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has continued reaching out to the less privileged and vulnerable people in the society with a visit to Iwoye-Ketu and Isaga-Orile communities that host  the Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS)  programme  for FUNAAB students during their Farm Practical Year (FPY). The Royal Fathers,  Oba Ademola Alaye, the Ooye of Iwoye-Ketu and Oba Olusoji Tella, the Olu of Isaga-Orile, alongside their subjects, received the Vice-Chancellor and his team with appreciation for supporting their people with various FUNAAB products during COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

The Vice-Chancellor, who also had a stopover at the palace of the Onimeko of Imekoland, Oba Benjamin Alabi Olanite, seized the opportunity to charge everybody, old and young alike, to reconsider agriculture, which he said remains the only way out of the imminent Post COVID-19 pandemic, which has crippled economies across the globe. The Vice-Chancellor said FUNAAB deemed it thoughtful to reach the various communities as integral part and partners in progress with FUNAAB. He noted that the items brought were products from the University. According to him, the products may not get to everybody in the various towns, but pleaded with the monarchs to ensure they reach the few they could, particularly the old and the vulnerable. He noted that the recent COVID-19 pandemic is affecting everybody and FUNAAB is always willing to support, in its little way, in order to ease the hardship resulting from the lockdown. On their part, the monarchs who were filled with gratitude, thanked FUNAAB and Prof. Salako for reaching out to the people. They equally prayed for the University’s progress.
