The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kolawole Salako joined pupils of FUNAAB Staff School in celebrating this year’s Christmas at the maiden edition of Christmas Show, taking place at the FUNAAB Zoological Park. At the event, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his love for children and women. “We give all glory to God, and as I have always said, children and women will always take priority in my life, I do not know why, but I keep telling everybody this, and I thank God for the joy of children”, he implored teachers to ensure that kids are well-guided in life.
The Director, FUNAAB Zoological Park, Prof. Omotola Jaiyeola appreciated the University Management and members of staff for their support, stressing that the park would continue to be relevant. He further appreciated Dr. Adeniyi Egbetade, a Board Member of the park, representing the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET), for putting the event together and ensuring its success. The Principal Technical Officer in the park, Mr. Tajudeen Alabi noted that the show received massive support from various corporate bodies such as the Nigerian Bottling Company Ltd, FUNAAB Universal Conservices (FUCONS) Limited, and Photofinance, Panseke, Abeokuta.
Mr. Alabi further disclosed that the park would be collaborating with relevant bodies to ensure they receive more patronage during the Christmas period. Responding, the Vice-Chancellor commended the Director for acknowledging the efforts of his staff.
The Vice-Chancellor announced the taking over of the running of the FUNAAB Souvenir Shop by FUCONS, for effectiveness and in fostering collaboration with other offices in the University for the production of quality souvenirs. The Christmas show featured the distribution of gifts to pupils by Father Christmas.
