1.  Vice-Chancellor’s Visitation and Inspection of Project Equipment and Screen house.
On the 12th of February, 2014, the project hosted the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. O. B. Oyewole who came to inspect and commission recently acquired laboratory equipment and screen house. In the Vice-Chancellor’s entourage were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. F. K. Salako, the Dean of the College of Plant Science and Crop Production, Prof. J. G. Bodunde, College lecturers and other important personnel.

The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the effort of the Principal Investigator Dr. A.R. Popoola and promised to offer continuous support in the achievement of the research goals and objectives.

Among the recently acquired equipment were the thermal cycler (PCR Machine), Water Bath system, Nitrogen tank, Micro pipette and stand, Gel electrophoresis machine, Vortex machine and centrifuge.

The equipment were acquired from the grants made available through the Competitive Agricultural Research Grants Scheme under the administration of Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria.
