The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kolawole Salako has confirmed that FUNAAB graduates are well-baked. He stated this while responding to a team of journalists that recently paid him a courtesy visit in his office. According to the Vice-Chancellor, most of the graduates produced by the University are job-creators, who are employing people in their various endeavours. He added that FUNAAB was able to achieve the feat because of the quality training given to its students in their various fields of specialisation.

Prof. Salako noted that the entrepreneurship training imparted on the students was not limited to agriculture alone but to other spheres of life. According to him, “More than 90 per cent of our students have been proving themselves to be of very good character. We made them from here and many of them have created jobs”. Addressing the issue of “sex for marks” in the university system across the country, the Vice-Chancellor described the attitude as “Ungodly”, saying that it is not good for anybody to suppress others. He further informed that sexual harassment is not limited to the academic environment but is also common in other sectors, where bosses suppress their subordinates.

On the welfare of students, Prof. Salako re-affirmed that University Management was not relenting in its efforts at making life comfortable for the students. The Vice-Chancellor reiterated that the University had over the years, been spending enormous amount of money to buy diesel, to ensure regular supply of electricity to the various students’ hostels, which is Management’s top priority in a bid to provide comfort and adequate welfare for students.
