The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has entered into a strategic 5-year Lease Agreement with Nutrients Life Ltd to expand and revitalise the University Bakery, aiming to boost productivity, rebrand and meet increasing demand.
The Agreement was formalised on August 30, 2024, during a meeting held in the Conference Room A of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde before signing the Agreement, said that the Bakery has been serving the University Community for several years, providing bread to students and staff.
However, he stressed that the time has come to extend the bakery’s reach beyond the campus, rebrand and expand its operations, adding that the University needs enhanced facilities, financial resources, and additional personnel to be able to carry out the tasks.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the Nutrients Life team to ensure that the bakery maintained high-quality standards and consistent availability of its products, adding that the venture has high-profit potential.
He also suggested the introduction of new products, such as chin chin and various types of biscuits, to cater to the diverse tastes of customers.
Earlier in the meeting, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo, introduced the Nutrients Life team to the Vice-Chancellor.
The meeting was attended by key members of FUNAAB, including the Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; the Director of FUNAAB Integrated Ventures (FIV), Mr. Olufisayo Amubode; the University Legal Officer, Mrs. Olanrewaju Tanimowo; and Mr. Adekunle Adebiyi, Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR), Vice-Chancellor’s Office.
