The strategic partnership between the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) and Wafroex Ltd, an agro-allied company, has yielded positive results as honey harvesting has commenced on the University campus.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Wafroex has donated another set of 70 Lyson Langstroth Beehives to FUNAAB, aiming to promote beekeeping as a viable agribusiness. Leading the project, Wafroex’s Project Manager, Mr. Abdulrahman Shomala, a proud alumnus of FUNAAB, oversaw the successful installation of the beehives.

He also lauded the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, for his unwavering support, which included the provision of accommodation and a project vehicle for the initiative.

In his remarks, the Director, FUNAAB Integrated Ventures (FIV), Mr. Olufisayo Ambode, noted that the partnership aligned with the University’s drive to enhance Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) while fostering private sector collaboration. He commended the dedication and commitment of the Wafroex Team in ensuring the project’s success.
