FUNAAB Appoints Eight Staff to Strategic Senior Non-Teaching Positions
The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has approved the appointment of eight distinguished members of staff into strategic Senior Non-Teaching positions, in a move that highlights the University’s sustained commitment to administrative excellence, institutional growth, and efficient service delivery.
The appointments, approved at the Governing Council meeting held on April 15, 2026, were aimed at strengthening critical operational areas of the University and further enhancing its capacity to deliver on its mandate in Teaching, Research and Extension Service.
According to a statement issued by the Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, the appointments reflected the University’s deliberate policy of rewarding professionalism, dedication, competence, and outstanding contributions to institutional advancement, following a rigorous and transparent selection process.
Among the beneficiaries of the exercise was Dr. Olutayo Ajayi of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology Services (DICTS), who was elevated to the position of Deputy Director I on CONTISS 15 Step 02, with effect from October 1, 2024. Also in DICTS, Mr. Victor Opakunle was appointed Deputy Director II on CONTISS 14, Step 03, with effect from October 1, 2025.
In the Directorate of Health Services, Mr. Muhammod-Rabiu Salihu was appointed Principal Chief Medical Records Officer on CONHESS 15, Step 01, while Mrs. Morenike Ajisafẹ and Mrs. Oyeronke Olanipekun were elevated to the rank of Senior Chief Nursing Officer on CONHESS 14, Step 03.
The Council also approved the appointment of Dr. Olusoji Kuforiji as Deputy Director II on CONTISS 14, Step 01, in the Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS). Similarly, Mrs. Olubukola Fasae was appointed Deputy Director II on CONTISS 14, Step 03, at the Centre for Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS), while Mr. Tunde Adeniyi was appointed Deputy Director II on CONTISS 14, Step 03, at the Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR).
The appointments have further reaffirmed FUNAAB’s sustained investment in human capital development and its determination to position competent professionals in key leadership roles to drive institutional efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Congratulating the newly elevated staff on the well-deserved appointments on behalf of Council, the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, expressed confidence in their capacity to provide exemplary leadership, uphold the University’s core values, and contribute meaningfully to its continued advancement and global competitiveness.
