The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), recently received a delegation from Weifang Vocational College, China, in a move to strengthen academic and institutional ties between the two institutions.
The visit focused on exploring areas of collaboration that could provide mutual benefits, particularly in agricultural education, skills development, modern farming practices and technology transfer.
The proposed partnership is expected to create new opportunities for FUNAAB students and staff, including scholarship opportunities and participation in specialised agricultural training programmes, while facilitating knowledge and technology exchange between the institutions.
Weifang Vocational College is a public full-time vocational institution in China, with the engagement expected to further broaden FUNAAB’s international partnerships and contribute to its drive for global visibility and capacity development.
The delegation comprised Ms. Wendy, a representative of the China Ministry of Education, Beijing; Dr. Yewande Olabinjo of the University of Lagos; and Mr. Tope Anthony, Public Relations Manager, Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ).
