The Vice – Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde was the Chief Host and was ably represented by the Deputy Vice -Chancellor (Development), Prof. Kola Adebayo who did justice to the Welcome Address he presented on behalf of the latter.

The Dean of COLPLANT, Prof. J. J. Atungwu was represented by the Deputy Dean, Prof. Waheed Salau while the former Deputy Vice -Chancellor (Development), Prof. O. J. Ariyo who is the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee led his team in doing the needful towards the success of the historical Conference.

Goodwill messages came from a member of COLPLANT Family who is the Rector of Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan -Ekiti, Prof. Johnson Adesodun and representatives of CRIN and NIHORT.

The Chairman of Committee of Deans and Directors (CODAD), Prof. Olusiji Sowande and the Dean of Post-graduate School, Prof. Gboyega Adebayo also delivered goodwill messages at the occasion.

The Keynote Speaker, Prof F. A. B. Fakorede was a round peg in a round hole as he dug beneath the surface of the theme of the Conference, “Plant Science For Sustainable Food System”.
