The newly-appointed Director of the Directorate of Works and Services at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Engr. Funso Ipadeola, officially assumed duties today, October 21, 2024, following a brief meeting with the University Management.
Welcoming Engr. Ipadeola to the University, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, congratulated him on his appointment. Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, the Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence that Engr. Ipadeola would leverage his new position to advance the University’s infrastructural development, noting that the appointment process adhered to FUNAAB’s commitment to due process.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the new Director to build on the achievements of his predecessor and lead the Directorate to greater heights.
In his response, Engr. Ipadeola expressed gratitude to the University Management for the opportunity and pledged to give his best in elevating the FUNAAB’s infrastructure. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed optimism that with the support of his team and the Management, they would be surmounted.
The Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; and the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, Engr. Kehinde Bamisile, also extended their congratulations, encouraging him to foster teamwork within the Directorate.
Before his appointment, Engr. Ipadeola served as Chief Engineer at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, and was on Leave of Absence as the Director of Works and Services at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, from 2019 to 2024. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 1988 and an M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Ibadan in 1995.
