The Management and Staff of the Nimbe Adedipe Library, recently participated in the 2026 Book Fair Exhibition held at the prestigious Wole Soyinka Centre, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.
The annual exhibition attracted Librarians, publishers, authors, scholars, researchers, booksellers, educational institutions, and information professionals from across Nigeria and beyond, providing a platform for intellectual engagement, networking, and the exchange of ideas on emerging trends in Library and Information Management.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Kunle Ogunlana, who represented the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi, described the exhibition as highly enriching and beneficial to university libraries nationwide. He noted that participation in the book fair enabled Librarians to explore newly published academic materials, digital information resources, and innovative technologies capable of improving library operations and service delivery.

According to him, the participation of the Nimbe Adedipe Library underscored the Library’s commitment to promoting reading culture, academic excellence, research development, and access to quality information resources for teaching, learning, and research activities within the University Community.
The University Librarian further stressed the importance of sustained professional interaction among Librarians, publishers, and stakeholders in the education sector, adding that such engagements contribute significantly to knowledge sharing, staff development, networking, and institutional growth.
He also disclosed that attendance at the exhibition enhanced the professional development of Library staff through interactions with experts in librarianship, publishing, and information management, while providing deeper insights into innovations shaping modern academic libraries in the digital age.
The event further served as an avenue for projecting the image and visibility of the Nimbe Adedipe Library as one of Nigeria’s leading libraries committed to supporting the vision and mission of FUNAAB.
